Scanning IVF Embryos with Artificial Intelligence

IVF lab embryologists spend considerable time examining early embryos, trying to determine which to implant first. The exam results in a score where even numbers—reflecting size and shape–indicate the best prospect. At Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, embryologists have an experimental project for screening these embryos by artificial intelligence. A study set of 100,000 images trained the computer to determine the morphology which is most promising. MORE
