Revising Pancreatic Regeneration

While regenerative medicine has made strides with growing blood, blood vessel, and bladder from stem cells, pancreatic regeneration has been the trailing edge in this field. For many years, researchers supposed pancreatic stem cells did not exist, but this report from the University of Miami asserts that progenitor cells in the pancreas do exist and might be stimulated to grow and differentiate into insulin producing beta cells.
