You’ve heard of wearable, ingestible and implantable sensors for distance monitoring. Now from engineers at Rochester Institute of Technology comes a new genre: a toilet seat that can track blood pressure, stroke volume, blood oxygen, heart rate and weight, also with an ECG. This might be called “sitable” device, and everybody already has the docking mechanism in their bathroom. Its developers imagine this could track heart patients who have been discharged from the hospital and reduce their readmissions. MORE
