Another Stab at a Glucose Monitoring Watch
“PKvitality, a company based outside of Paris, France, has announced that it’s getting ever closer to unveiling the world’s first glucose measuring smartwatch. The K’Watch Glucose, as it’s expected to be called, features the company’s patented SkinTaste technology that samples glucose from the skin and K’apsul biosensor that does the measuring. The biosensor has to be replaced every so often, and so will have to be purchased regularly as a consumable.” Sound familiar? Remember the Glucowatch that the FDA approved in 2001 which failed to live up to its hype. That device required a three-hour warmup and still required a finger stick to calibrate. It used a low level electrical current to draw fluid through the skin, which may or may not be the twin of ‘Skin Taste.” See the video, and wonder if this is too good to be true. MORE WITH VIDEO
