Smartphone Urinalysis at Home

Dipsticks are commonly used in laboratory urinalysis—where a stack of chemical patches on the stick changes color to indicate conditions such as pH, protein, ketones, bilirubin, et al. Now, an Israeli company, Healthy.io (Tel Aviv) has received FDA approval for a smartphone camera that is highly accurate in reading the colors. After the reading, the accompanying app can display the data and/or send it to a physician. MORE
