Using a “hand held skin printer that resembles a white-out tape dispenser—except that tape roll is replaced by a microdevice that forms tissue sheets,” engineers at the University of Toronto have shown a way of depositing epidermis, dermis and hypodermis layers of skin over deep wounds. “Ink” for this device is made of collagen and fibrin.
