World’s First Commercial iPSC Factory

On March 22, the Sumitomo Dainippon Manufacturing Plant for Regenerative Medicine opened the first commercial factory for making human induced pluripotent stem cells. The facility has 30,000 sq. feet of production space which cost $343m. It expects to annually produce hundreds of iPSCs, starting with the needs of Parkinson’s disease sufferers. MORE
