The Future of Mobile Devices for Hospitals

How common will mobile medical devices be—e.g. wearables for pre-admission, admission, and post-discharge patient monitoring; telecom apps that access EHRs, lab results and drug databases) in hospitals by 2022, just four years from now? The survey mentioned in the piece projects near 100% adoption by doctors, nurses, pharmacists and medical technicians, worldwide. However, there’s no mention of hacking problems, reactionary hospital administrators, devices that don’t live up to their billing, obsolescence rates, and other real life scenarios. MORE
