Imagine a combination electrophoresis box, nanopore sequencer and microfluidics device all in a very, very tiny package and you’d have something similar to a biosensor engineers at the University of Rochester have built. The unintended discovery came when one of the scientists exhaled and observed how a bath of water vapor connected the layers. The aim is for this device to detect DNA biomarkers of diseases. MORE
