Microneedle Patch for Drawing Interstitial Fluid

Average size adults carry about two and a half gallons of interstitial fluid which bathes every cell in the body. This liquid, containing proteins and electrolytes, is useful in diagnosing normal or abnormal bodily functions and offers an alternative to blood in some cases. Researchers at the Scandia National Laboratory have designed a microneedle patch for taking interstitial fluid at a rate of two microliters in two minutes. MORE
