A New Kind of “Tissue Paper”

In a multistep process (see the video), biochemists at Northwestern University have taken animal tissues, minced them and washed away all cells, leaving a slurry of protein and extracellular matrix that they mix with polymer to form a flat material resembling paper—tissue paper. These scientists have then used this material to support cell growth into tissue regeneration. MORE WITH VIDEO
