Altering Gene Expression with Gold Nanorods and a NIR Laser
September 26, 2017 | Terry Sharrer
Japanese scientists have used lipid coated gold nanorods to deliver a gene vector, which when heated with a near infrared laser (780 nm) released a cytotoxic protein, killing cancer cells. The proof of principal came with taking the same approach, only ending with the expression of a green fluorescent protein. MORE
