A Vest that Uses Radar to Image Lungs
August 29, 2017 | Terry Sharrer
Ohio State University is conducting a clinical trial of a vest, made by Sensible Medical (Netanya, Israel) that uses radar to image fluid in the lungs. Radio waves emitted from the front of the vest are recorded on a receiver at the back. The vest is hard wired to a tablet for data collecting over a 90 minute session, while the patient is at home. This piece claims that this method reduces hospital readmissions by 87%, which must be a running tally since the trial is still in progress. MORE
