MIT’s Microfluidics Device to Detect Plasma Cells

Multiple myeloma comes from a proliferation of white blood cells (plasma cells) that result in overproduction of immunoglobulins. Usually, this is diagnosed with a bone marrow biopsy, but MIT scientists have now developed a microfluidics device that can distinguish and quantify plasma cells in the peripheral blood. MORE
