A Hand-Held Device that Determines Sepsis in 10 Minutes
March 21, 2017 | Terry Sharrer
Nanomix (Emeryville, CA) is now clinically testing its point-of-care, hand held diagnostic device that can give an evaluation for sepsis in ten minutes. The device consists of a reader, and assay cartridge with a carbon nanostructure biosensor that rates levels of lactate, PCT and C-Reactive proteins which indicate blood infections. Each test costs $15, instead of the $65 insurance reimbursement for the standard lab test. MORE
