CyPass Micro Stent Implant
Alcon (Ft. Worth, TX; now a division of Novartis) has recently won FDA approval for its “CyPass Micro Stent” for treating glaucoma. In a minimally invasive technique this stent is placed in the eye’s supracillary space and allows a channel for fluid outflow from the anterior chamber—thus reducing intraocular pressure. Typically, this would be implanted during cataract surgery. Other devices also exist in this genre. MORE
