“Pillo,” the Drug Dispensing Robot Who Recognizes You
August 23, 2016 | Terry Sharrer
This may be the first “male” personal robot. “Pillo” (from Pillo, Inc., New York, NY) uses facial and voice recognition to distinguish one or more people, and dispenses daily medications accordingly. “He” can order refills automatically, answer some questions (SIRI-like), engage two-way video consults (WhatsApp-like) and send alerts to caregivers or a family member in case of missed meds. Preorders for next year cost $299; later the price rises to $599. Interesting video with this piece. MORE WITH VIDEO
