CHOP’s Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the nation’s oldest pediatric hospital and largest in terms of its research programs, has created a “big data” facility linking molecular features, histology and patient records. What’s different about this center, compared to its biorepository and bioinformatics department which already exists is that the data will be open sourced to promote collaborative discoveries with researchers around the country and internationally.
