“Prediction of Cancer Outcomes from Genomic Profiles” is what Stanford’s Cancer Institute calls its database that integrates expression profiling for thirty-nine types of cancer with known survival rates, based on 18,000 patients. Microarrays provide the gene expression patterns-showing, for example, that the FOXM1 gene correlates with poorer survival, while KLRB1 indicates better than average chances—and that data was matched with actual survival information.
