Semiconductors + Cellular Sensor Arrays
September 1, 2015 | Terry Sharrer
Every genome, potentially, can respond differently to a specific drug. To match an individual’s unique biology to a medicine, engineers at Georgia Tech have developed a semiconductor chip with multiple sensors that offers a new tool for personalized medicine. According to this piece: “The research proposes and demonstrates the world’s first multi-modality cellular sensor arranged in a standard low-cost CMOS process. Each sensor pixel can concurrently monitor multiple different physiological parameters of the same cell and tissue samples to achieve holistic and real-time physiological characterizations.” MORE
