Knee Brace that Generated Electricity as it Flexes

Electrical engineers at Rice University have built an electrical generator that attaches to a knee brace and produces four watts from the knee flexing from walking. In this version, a wire from the motor connects to a rechargeable lithium ion battery worn on the waist, but the designers hope to build a wireless version, which could directly power a advice such as an artificial heart.
