Implant to Control Hunger

EnteroMedics (St. Paul, MN) has been FDA approved to implant its hunger control device as a bariatric surgery procedure. In effect, this device is a pacemaker for the stomach, which works by having electrical impulses intermittently block hunger pangs that the vagus nerve conveys from the stomach to the brain.
