Stem Cells in Hydrogel Heal Neurons

Much of the news about stem cells has been in the means of producing them from somatic cells, and expanding them without tripping off the differentiation process prematurely. This piece, however, reports that University of Toronto cell biologists have found that encasing stem cells in hydrogel and then transplanting them to a location for some desired therapy has resulted in greater transplant survival and integration.
