Skin Test for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s

It has long been known that neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s leave biomarkers in blood. But researchers at the University of San Luis Potosi in Mexico reasoned that skin and brain tissues have a common embryonic origin, skin cells could reveal the tau protein indicating AD, and alpha synuclein of PD if tested. An experimental skin test showed these elevated proteins in both diseases. MORE
