Inhaled Nanoparticle Antibiotic Delivery

Nanoparticles are becoming an important means for drug delivery because they can be placed directly in a tumor or at an infection site. This piece, reporting on work in Germany, France and Brazil, tells how virus-sized nanoparticles, made from a polymer oil and stabilizer, have delivered the antibiotic clarithromycin by inhalation to infected lung tissue.
