“Eve” picks up after “Adam”—wouldn’t you know it! But in this case both are scientific robots that test drug candidates at low cost and high speed. Adam can perform 10,000 tests a day; but Eve uses artificial intelligence to screen the best candidates with living cells (i.e. genetically altered yeast) and sort the various effects. Both robots were made in university labs in the UK. MORE
