Perspective on Nanotechnology

It remains to be seen if the fifty year old “Moore’s law” (i.e. a doubling of the number of transistors every 24 months that can be squeezed into an integrated circuit “chip”) is coming to an end, but like Malthusian theory of population the end keeps being delayed. This piece reviews some of the issues in nanotechnology and nanoelectronics that have a great deal to do with the future of medical devices and virtually every aspect of healthcare delivery. MORE
