3D Printed Capillaries
Printing organs does not appear to be on the near term horizon, but persistently 3-D printing is moving in the right direction. Researchers at Harvard have printed non-functioning artificial nephrons, which might be useful in drug testing. To create functioning nephrons—ones with thinner membranes that can allow nutrients and waste to transit—the printing technology has to evolve further for micro if not nano fabrication. MORE
