Growing Blood Vessels in a Week

Preparation of Blood Vessels in the Lab
This report from Sahlgrenska University in Gothenburg, Sweden is astonishing, but short on important details. It claims that researchers were able to regenerate blood vessels using only a small amount of blood (containing stem cells) and in a week’s time. It doesn’t say whether bone marrow stem cells were mobilized and taken from whole peripheral blood or harvested with a stem cell isolator. In any case, though, an ability to grow useable human tissue in one week is quite remarkable. MORE
