Computerized Gloves Teach Braille
September 9, 2014 | Terry Sharrer
This idea—a computerized glove—started in 2008 with “Piano Touch” which taught people how to play a few piano melodies in 45 minutes. The same lab at Georgia Tech has now used a glove with tiny vibrating motors in the knuckles to teach braille (responding to sounds). After four hours, participants had learned 90% of braille letters with 75% accuracy—while being distracted by playing a video game. MORE
