A Wearable Alternative to Kidney Dialysis
May 13, 2014 | Terry Sharrer
Researchers at the National Institute for Materials Sciences (Ibaraki, Japan) have developed a prototype material that is capable of filtering toxins from blood. The nanofiber is made of polyethylene polymer (for structure) and aluminosilicate (to absorb the toxins). These scientists imagine a wearable skin patch that could be an alternative to kidney dialysis. MORE
