Moticon OpenGo insole
At a recent wearable sensors conference in Europe, Moticon (Munich, Germany) attracted much attention for it “OpenGo” sensored insole. The device has 13 pressure sensors, a 3-D accelerometer and a temperature sensor with an integrated data recorder that has software which can output results in graph form. See the video that shows the real time graphing of a cross country skier’s form using these insoles. While the company sees athletics as its primary market, this device could be quite helpful in detecting arthritis or Parkinson’s onset, as well as gait analysis for physical rehabilitation and stability monitoring for elders.
