Nanostructured Xray of Soft Tissue
X-ray machines require contrasting agents to image soft tissue, but engineers from MIT and Mass General Hospital have devised a small (small enough to be portable) machine that sends electron beams through an array of micron-sized tips. The resulting images not only show soft tissue in detail but produce images that are sharper by a factor of 100 over conventional x-ray pictures. MORE
