IBM’s Microfluidics Device for Oncologists

IBM’s search for new markets, after disappointing earnings in its more traditional fields, has turned to novel technologies which in this case is microfluidics. The company’s engineers have designed a chip that has a total surface area for testing of 100 micrometers. Its small size offers more extensive testing of even tiny biopsy samples. Now, they simply have to apply “Dr. Watson” to the diagnosis. MORE
