Stem Cells in a Scaffold Structure
Biochemists at three centers in Germany have created macroporous scaffolds from hydrogel that mimic the bone marrow cavities where pluripotent stem cells reside in the body. Hematopoietic stem cells, with appropriate protein factors, are thus able to “self-renew and retain their ability to differentiate.” MORE
