Predictive Modeling of Drug Response
October 22, 2013 | Terry Sharrer
Using differential equations for statistical modeling, researchers at Penn State’s College of Medicine believe that careful algorithms can integrate enough information about a person’s genome and pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics to predict how effective and safe a drug will be for an individual before the medication is given. Obviously, this is a couple of steps beyond evaluating metabolic rate for optimal drug dosage. In effect, it is a finer tuning for personalized medicine. MORE
