Spleen-on-a-Chip

Following Tagline’s stories (March 12, and May 7) about the Wyss Institute’s “organs-on-a-chip,” here’s a piece about another organ– Wyss’ “spleen-on-chip,” used to cleanse blood. Notice near the end of this story mention of the super-hydrophobic coating, “SLIPS,” which allows blood to be processed without anticoagulants—a material that could be used in many other devices.
