Tagline for April 30 reported on the first automated liver profusion device, which allows a liver to remain “alive” outside the body for at least 24 hours. Now the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center reports using a similar device to keep blood and oxygen/CO2 flowing in lungs while awaiting transplantation. MORE PLUS VIDEO
