Here is a variation on “companion diagnostics,” not between a test and a drug, but matching an implantable device (e.g. pacemaker, defibrillator) with a distance monitor. St. Jude Medical (St. Paul, MN) offers its “Merlin@home” monitor for its implantable devices which features 24/7 coverage and automatic data transfer to St. Jude Medical Patient Care Network.  Components of the Merlin are off-the-shelf electronics.  MORE
