Telemedicine in Virginia

This piece, from the” EHR Intelligence” website, reviews past, present and future developments for telemedicine in Virginia, and, in so doing, gives an overview of issues facing the field everywhere. It does not, however, make a point of how telemedicine will impact hospitals’ most important economic interest—i.e. market share. Telemedicine frees intrastate healthcare competition and so far the related systems do not appear to be covered under certificate of public need regulations.
