Breath Tester
Dogs can be trained to detect the smell of lung cancer in a person’s breath—with 98% accuracy. With that in mind, Metabolomx (Mountain View, CA) recently ran tests of its cancer breathalayzer and demonstrated an 83% accuracy—the same as low dose CT imaging. The company is now developing a more sensitive device—more color changing reactants in the array to indicate biomarkers in breath—which they expect to produce 90% accuracy. MORE
