The C.I.A. of Healthcare’s Future: Educating Tomorrow’s Professionals
Innovative, extraordinary technologies are being developed today for almost every aspect of healthcare delivery. For those involved in educating tomorrow’s healthcare professionals, there is an ever-expanding, dazzling array of technologies demanding inclusion in our curricula. But the technologies of today are not those that many of our students will work with in their careers ten, twenty, thirty or forty years from now. So instead of focusing on the technologies, we must teach students the global skills of the C.I.A. of healthcare’s future: the collection, integration and application of enormous amounts of data. Dr. Griffiths will explore this vision of the future of healthcare provision. She will address how a few colleges and universities are creating new approaches and environments for the training of professionals who will be effective in the milieu of today and also have the skills to implement and exploit the technologies of tomorrow.
