Trending Toward Concierge Care

In a way, concierge care is what family practice medicine used to be-i.e. doctors who knew their patients for years, made house calls, and got paid in cash. Now, after decades of medicine relying on team-doctoring, impersonalized care, and insurance reimbursement, concierge care is going back to the future as more physicians opt out of Medicare and other insurance plans. About a thousand doctors have followed that trend and some 60% of them report better income and a more satisfying professional life.
