LifeWatch’s “Teleclinic”
June 1, 2010 | Terry Sharrer
Three to five percent of Americans over age 65 have atrial fibrillation (2.2 million people) and some of them die from strokes attributed to AF. LifeWatch (Hewlett, NY, a subsidiary of LifeWatch AG, Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland), has introduced a new telemedicine monitoring service-the “AF Teleclinic” that charts data from the patient to a physician’s iPad for rapid response. The company soon plans to launch other Teleclinics for stroke and sleep apnea management. Their home sleep testing program will be called “NiteWatch.” MORE
