Besides figuring out new ways to run sequencers (e.g. IBM’s new nanopore approach, in the Nov. 3 Tagline), faster sample preparation is necessary for quicker, cheaper genomics. Olink Genomics (Uppsala, Sweden) has made progress in this area with its “Selector Technology” that does multiplex amplification and adds probe libraries to enrich thousands of DNA fragments in a single reaction tube. Karolinska Institute researchers are now using this kit for work on DNA repair genes malfunction in B-cell lymphoma. MORE
