Mayo-Scottsdale to Stop Taking Medicare Patients
November 3, 2009 | Terry Sharrer
Every hospital in the country is trying to figure out how to break even financially on its Medicare patients. The reason is declining reimbursements, with a forecast that looks worse than the present. Mayo Clinic’s Scottsdale, AZ branch says that, starting on January 1, it will no longer accept Medicare patients. MORE

I can understand the reason for this. When I get my Medicare forms showing what was charged and what was paid, I am astounded. It does make it hard when we want to go to a great hospital like Mayo, however, it costs money to keep your doors open and with the pittance that Medicare reimburses, those doors will not stay open. However is the loss of revenue from not receiving Medicare patients going to keep the doors open?
Our healthcare is in terrible trouble with Obama care coming up. That has to be stopped somehow.
Thanks for listening,
