“Smart” Neuro-Catheter

University of Cincinnati nanotech engineers have developed an early stage “smart’ catheter that drains cerebrospinal fluid from a brain trauma patient while recording vital signs. The spirally-rolled catheter has microsenors inside that measure temperature, pressure, oxygen and glucose levels as would be found in an injured, swelling brain.
