PERSONA, a project of the European Union that promotes independent aging, has been functioning since 2007 and will continue until 2010.  It has developed solutions-such as “smart textiles” for use with devices-in four areas: safety, mobility, communication and autonomy.  Under “deliverables” on its website are the AAL service specifications, service assessment outcomes, description and planning of pilot sites, and more.
