Conflict of interest

MAO agrees to provide a forum for unbiased, easily accessible information regarding medical advancements and other interests. MAO is a certified non-profit organization, and does not receive any funding or other benefits from such publications and promotions. MAO’s sole interest is to further the benefits of a streamlined and efficient healthcare system, and to provide improvements for the public good.

It is the policy of MAO to insure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all its sponsored educational activities. To that end, all members of the Scientific Advisory Board are expected to disclose any real or apparent relationships with industry that may have a direct bearing on the subject matter of the activities. The intent of MAO’s policy is not to prevent those with these relationships from participating in the planning of the program. It is merely intended that any potential relationships be identified openly so the visitors to our website and conference attendees may form their own judgments about the program content with the full disclosure of the facts.

This pertains to, relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biomedical device manufacturers or other corporations whose products or services are related to the subject matter of the educational event and relevant financial interests or relationships belonging to them or their spouse. Any relationships will be disclosed on our site and in any printed educational materials.
